“This shouldn’t be so difficult. It’s only five ingredients!!” Betty said as she looked at her notes.
Tammy looked up from her internet search.
“It says here that there are 16 tablespoons in a cup. So that makes a stick” she counted the markings on the butter, “a half cup!”
“Great, but we need to know cubes.”
“One? Maybe?”
Andrew listened from the other room and wondered if he’d ever taste his mother’s shortbread again.
This story is based on Luke 24:11-12, the confusion and pondering that Peter experienced. And just for funsies, here’s a recipe for shortbread.
Scotch Shortbread recipe
1 cube butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Mix together ingredients. Roll out and cut into cookies or press dough into 8×8 pan. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit on non greased cookie sheet for 20-25 minutes. May be decorated using springler cookie presses.
